What a bingo race is
A bingo race puts every runner on the same board and starts one clock. Runners complete objectives in their game and claim squares as they go; whoever completes the win condition first takes it. It turns a game you already know well into a fresh route-planning problem, which is why the format grew out of speedrunning rather than out of bingo.

Race scoring or lockout scoring
The two formats use the same board and the same cards — the difference is only whether a claimed square stays available to everyone else.
- Race: squares are not exclusive, runners go in parallel, and completion time decides it. Best for large or asynchronous fields.
- Lockout: the first claim removes the square for everyone else, turning the race into a direct contest. Best from two to ten runners.
- Switch between them without rebuilding the board.
Timers, pauses and disputes
The parts of a race that usually need a spreadsheet and a referee are built in, so the host can run and compete at the same time.

What is a bingo race?
A bingo race is a timed competition where every runner works the same board of objectives and the fastest to hit the win condition takes it. TCB keeps the timer, the claims and the win condition synced across every runner, so there is no manual tracking.
What is the difference between a bingo race and lockout bingo?
In a race, squares are not exclusive: runners can complete the same objective and the winner is decided on time. In lockout, the first claim removes the square for everyone else, so blocking becomes a tactic. Both run on the same board — it is a scoring choice, not a different card.
Can I use lockout rules in a bingo race?
Yes. Enable VS or battle mode to run lockout rules, so each square can only be claimed once while the race clock is still running.
Can I set specific win conditions?
Yes — rows, columns, diagonals, full card, most squares held, and ladder top row are all supported, and diagonals can be toggled independently.
What happens to the timer if a runner disconnects?
The race clock keeps running and pauses are tracked automatically. A runner can rejoin with the same code and their claimed squares are preserved.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Open the room link in a mobile browser, or install the PWA (iOS Safari: Share then Add to Home Screen; Android Chrome: menu then Install app). Claims stay synced across devices.
